Piano lessons your kids will love

1-ON-1 IN-PERSON OR VIRTUAL LESSONS FROM THE COMFORT OF YOUR HOME

With 28+ years experience under my belt, I believe kids should be taught how to play the piano in a way that suits their own unique personality, skill level, and pace. This takes a teacher with an awareness, willingness, and patience to work with them. Give me a call to see if we’re a good match!

Hi, I’m Jan!

What students and parents are saying…

  • "Naomi and I never really tell you what a difference you have made in our children’s lives. We are blessed to have you! Thank you for your constant positive attitude and spirit."

    Darren & Naomi Totty

  • "Thank you for being such a great piano teacher. Thank you for teaching me such an invaluable skill. You are a good teacher. Thank you for being patient and encouraging, and for teaching me some of my favorite songs."

    Alex (student)

  • "Thank you so much for teaching me these past ten years. I always enjoyed music, and I think you are one of the main reasons for that."

    Zach (student)

  • "You are the BEST teacher in the history of music teachers. Thank you for being so patient with us. We’ve learned so much from you."

    Lauren, Elise & Sarah (students)

  • “Our girls started piano with Ms. Jan about 2 1/2 years ago. We have enjoyed her consistently positive approach and encouraging personality. She has been able to both teach and motivate our girls quite effectively, despite their two opposite personalities. We are very grateful for her investment in our lives!”

What to expect..

  • I typically like to begin with ear training because Suzuki students are known for their fluent, expressive playing, their excellent memory and relaxation. Every child is unique and we will adjust according to their needs.

  • Learning to read notes allows them to play anything they want! I use a variety of lesson books to continue their education in music theory and work on performance pieces.

  • Outside of lesson books, your kiddos are given the opportunity to choose what music piece’s they’d like to learn. This not only motivates them to learn, but it allows them to express themselves.

  • Lessons are 30-45 min long.

Most lessons begin at 30 minutes. Depending on the child, their experience and dedication, you can choose a longer lesson.

  • Your Home Sweet Home.

Whether it’s virtual or in-person you don’t have to worry about an additional trip out somewhere. I come to you.

  • For in-person lessons we can start as young as 6 yrs old. For virtual I’ve found we have better success with 10+ yrs old.
